Anxiety was high going into our first interview, but luckily for us Skatewytch is the kind of skater that immediately feels like an old friend. She’s known for her work contributing to DIY skatepark builds, being the first park skater to have her name on a wheel, and her daringly gritty skate style , but as we learn in this interview her grind and work ethic don’t cease there. She shares how her personal experiences growing up led her to center community efforts in everything she does from her work for non profits, to community action and organizing. You’ll hear unmistakable rawness as she opens up about her experiences with the mindf^ck of sponsorship, social media, mental health crises, and wrestling with body image. Ever one to pull herself up by the bootstraps, skating has always catalyzed her forward momentum whether it’s gaining confidence on the derby track or chasing her bliss while touring skate parks by driving cross country.
